Let's Build a Dungeon: Chapter 1

Chapter 1: Birth

When I came to, I was lying in front of the throne for some reason.

No one was in front of the throne. And yet, the chandelier on the ceiling was shining brightly.

and the throne was shining as brightly as the chandelier.

It was as if there was a master.

Holding my confused head down, I tried to make sense of the situation.

I soon realized that I knew nothing.

I knew immediately that I knew nothing.

I knew nothing about where I was, why I was here, where I was from

I couldn't remember where I was from, why I was here, my date of birth, or even my name.

I only had knowledge. I knew that the golden chair in front of me was a throne,

I knew that the golden chair in front of me was a throne, I knew where the chandelier on the ceiling was powered from, and so on.

I could see that the golden chair in front of me was a throne.

Only my memory was completely gone. No, there was not even a trace of memory, so much so that it seemed as if it had never existed.

I could even think that there was not even a trace of memory at all.

I wonder if it was amnesia, a word that feels strange, but for now, let's just call it that.

I am not sure if I have amnesia or not.

Is there anyone there?

I shouted as the thought came to mind. However, I did not receive a reply from anyone.

I didn't get a reply from anyone.

It seemed that there was no one around here.

The remaining options were six doors, three on each side, and one large door at the end of a red carpet straight from the throne.

There is one large door at the end of the red carpet that is rolled out directly from the throne.

What to do? We examine all the doors in order except for the big one.

My intuition is whispering to me to stop the big door in front of me.

Therefore, I decided to check the doors on the left and right.

The first one. There was a huge bed with a canopy in the center of the room.

I thought there was a door in the corner and opened it to find a washroom. And it had a washing machine and a dryer. It seemed to be a very convenient bedroom.

The second room. As soon as I opened the door, I understood what kind of place it was. It was a toilet. And it looks like a bidet toilet. There were plenty of spare toilet paper and air fresheners. There are many spare toilet paper and air fresheners. It looks like I won't have any trouble for a while.

Third. It was a bath that was large enough to be called a large bathroom. I wondered how many people could get in there at the same time.

I would like to try to see how many people can enter at once. It is equipped with a shower, an electric bath, and a sauna, shower, electric bath, and sauna. The temperature can be easily controlled by a monitor on the wall.

The problem is that the rooms are too spacious, so cleaning them seems to be a chore.

fourth, if I were a cook, how happy would I be?

Fourth, the kitchen was so well equipped that I wondered how happy I would be if I were a cook. There were various kinds of knives and pots and pans.

There is a microwave, oven, refrigerator, freezer, smoker, etc., so there is no need to worry about cooking.

and a smoker, so there was no need to worry about cooking. However, no matter where I looked

I looked everywhere, but could not find any foodstuff.

Fifth, the playroom, or should I call it a private room? There was a huge sofa and several large monitors, each connected to the other.

There were several large monitors on a huge sofa, and a home video game console connected to each of them.

Naturally, there were also portable consoles and plenty of software. Othello, Shogi, etc. are available if you look for them a little.

I could have stayed here for days. So I came out without exploring much.

I came out without exploring much. Why? Because I felt like I was going to fall.

Sixth, there was nothing here. It was just a big room.

Bottom line, the throne room is liveable as long as you can manage to find food.

Well, I did not want to confirm that it was liveable, but I decided that this was a big

I decided that this was a big gain.

For some reason, there was no one here, even though this was a habitable environment. There was no evidence of human presence at all before that.

There was no trace of anyone before that. Everything in every room was as good as new.

I can't say that I was scared.

I was filled with indescribable fear, but I had no choice but to take action.

I stood in front of the last remaining large door. I opened the steel door and saw

What I saw was a forest with no human hands in it.

I saw a forest that had not been touched by human hands at all.

I don't understand. Why is the throne room suddenly connected to the forest?

Or rather, what is this? Why is there only a door on top of the hill?

There is nothing but a door, no space between the thrones. What is this? Where is the door?

It's like. Does this lead directly to the throne room?

The questions kept coming up one after another, and I couldn't find an answer to them.

I close the door anyway. Then I open it again.

It seems that it is not possible to move from place to place like a door.

I can't find the answer to that question, so I close the door and open it again.

After solving one of my questions, I manage to regain my composure.

First of all, what? Isn't there anything I should do first? Secure food?

huh? Surely there is something to eat in this forest if we search a little.

But... As I was looking around for something that looked interesting, I saw something moving among the trees.

I found something moving among the trees.

A dirty green dwarf. He was probably the size of a child and almost completely naked. Almost completely naked.

They were wearing only animal skins or woven straw wrapped around their waists and clubs in their hands.

About five such dwarfs were beating up a log-like caterpillar.

They were probably hunting.

But then a shadow crept up on them. Dogs, or rather wolves, were approaching.

Like the dwarfs, they were a pack of about five, but for some reason, only one of them had a spear in its mouth.

It was a wolf.

The pack of wolves attacked the dwarfs, who were happy to hunt larvae. Then, to their surprise

Something amazing happened.

The wolves stand on two legs. And dexterously handling their spears with both hands, they

skewered the dwarves one after another.

The dwarfs fell helplessly in the surprise attack.

The wolves had larvae and the five dwarves.

Watching this, I had only one thought in my mind.

I will never enter this forest.

I'm not sure I can survive. I don't remember anything, but I still have muscles.

I am not fast.

I'll just have to figure out a way to get food without going into the forest.

And then I noticed something.

A wolf with a spear is staring at me.

Of course, the other side is quite a distance away. Maybe the other side

might not be looking at me, but somewhere else.

But I thought I saw their eyes.

I looked back at him and he did not look away from me.

At that moment, another wolf spoke to the spear carrier and looked away. That's when I took the opportunity to

I quickly ran into the door.

I move my trembling legs frantically, suppressing my racing heartbeat as I run straight ahead.

I ran straight ahead, trying to keep my trembling legs from shaking and my heart beating wildly.

I fled to the back of the throne. At the same time, the trembling that I had been suppressing

I could no longer suppress it.

I didn't feel anything in particular about the slaughter of the filthy green dwarf.

I didn't feel anything in particular. I was somewhat optimistic, thinking, "Ah, it's the law of the jungle, the law of the jungle.

I was an uninvolved bystander. It was as if I was watching the situation in another country.

I felt as if I was watching the situation in another country.

Now it's different. The wolf with the spear had definitely found me. He could be coming to kill me.

He could be coming to kill me. And I think it's very likely.

They have five of them and we have one. The other side has the advantage in armaments. On top of that, the situation is such that there is only a door on the hill.

There is only a door on top of the hill. They would be suspicious and probe.

The only thing that could turn the situation around.

The only way things could get better. They have taken enough food,

They might have enough to go home. But if they needed more

If they needed more, if they wanted to kill instead of hunt. That's all it takes.

That's all it takes. I lean on the throne, praying desperately that they don't come.

A bang! I thought my heart would jump out of my chest.

I looked in the direction of the sound and saw a gorgeously bound book had fallen there.

I picked it up and looked at the title.

It read, "Let's build a dungeon.

The World's Strongest with a Commonplace Job - Prologue

Prologue In the darkness, a faint glimmer of light shrank rapidly in the distance. Reflexively, Hajime Nagumo reached out for it, though he knew it was already beyond his grasp. His body was gripped by an overwhelming sensation of falling, a primal fear tightening his core as he stared helplessly at the vanishing glow. Hajime was plummeting—deep into a vast chasm, seemingly without end. The light he had seen was that of the surface, now nothing more than a memory. It had all begun during a dungeon expedition. A misstep, or perhaps something more sinister, had caused him to fall into a massive fissure. Now, with no end in sight, the abyss swallowed him whole. Darkness consumed everything, broken only by the roar of rushing wind in his ears and the flood of memories flashing before his eyes—like a reel of his life unraveling in reverse. He was a Japanese high school student, living a life that was neither extraordinary nor particularly tragic—until he was summoned to this brutal, u...

Seventh: Chapter 4 - Monster

"I was terribly tired , but after waking up, I endured the sleepiness and ate breakfast. The breakfast served at the inn didn't look particularly appetizing, but it was warm, and perhaps because my body needed it, it tasted good when I ate it. Seeing me like that, Novem looked relieved. 'You seemed awfully tired yesterday, but you look fine today, don't you? Your complexion isn't bad either.' Since waking up, I've been completely dependent on Novem. I even let her help me wash my face, brush my teeth, and set my hair. Several times, I heard the First Generation's voice shouting at me, mostly telling me not to rely on Novem. For some reason, they seem to be quite concerned about Novem." "It's not just the First Generation. From the Fourth Generation back—the First, Second, Third, and Fourth Generations—they all seem to be somewhat lenient with Novem. As for the Fifth Generation and onwards, perhaps because Novem's family is a vassal...
